About the event
We're back at Blackwater Falls Lodge in Davis, WV for another annual foray of the WV Mushroom Club. This will be a 3-day event filled with speakers, walks, talks, art, vendors, hands-on workshops, mushroom tastings and more! Read ticket options carefully--some workshops require an additional fee or at least a reservation, and they fill up quickly! Also, plan your schedule carefully, and notice workshops that might overlap.
Tickets do not cover lodging. Blackwater Falls State Park has a variety of accommodations including campsites, cabins and rooms in the lodge. Please contact the Blackwater Falls Lodge front desk directly for a 20% discount on rates when booking with the WV Mushroom Club Foray while space lasts. Note- booking online will not get you this discount! There are additional lodging and camping options available in Thomas and Davis, WV or on the Monongahela National Forest.

Three FULL days of walks, talks, workshops, and shopping--full of mushrooms! This ticket covers admission for one person to all speakers and walks, pizza supper with mushroom toppings Friday night, and the mushroom tasting supper Saturday night. Notice certain workshops need an additional ticket.

Volunteer Full 3-Day Pass
Three FULL days of walks, talks, workshops, and shopping--full of mushrooms! This is a volunteer pass. In exchange for the discounted price, you are required to help out at the foray for a maximum of 4 hours. Our volunteer coordinator will be reaching out to you prior to the event to help schedule you so that you don't miss your favorite activities. Please provide good contact information and be ready to sign up to help out!

Fri 2:00 Amadou-IT Workshop
Friday, 2:00-3:30pm. Flannel Roots proprietors will talk participants through Fomes fomentarius harvest, tinder properties and leather-making techniques. In the hands-on portion, students will create a small amadou keychain, using the saddle stitch. Please note there are other activities at this time, check the schedule.

Sun 10:30 Mushroom Extracts
In this class we will cover how to make a variety of potent mushroom extractions. We will cover the basics of extracting different properties of mushrooms with water, alcohol, glycerine and oil. During the class you will start your own 5oz. mushroom tincture and learn how to finish dual water extraction at home. Walk away confident about the purpose of different extraction techniques and knowing how to make your own extracts at home! This workshop takes place at the same time as other workshops.

Sun 10:30 DIY Mushroom Culture
Learn techniques for growing your own mushroom cultures with Charlie Aller. Participants will culture mushrooms found on the foray walks and take home their own culture. This workshop is at the same time as Mushroom Tinctures and Printmaking, so make sure your schedule doesn't conflict.

Sunday, 10:30am. Join Karen Milnes for a little primer in printing on fabric as we make some mushroom themed printed textiles! No prior experience necessary. Bring your own item to print on if you want, though not all fabrics are suitable for printing.
